Course Rules
BuckSnort Disc Golf Course

Course Rules
WELCOME TO THE BUCKSNORT DGC - At the BuckSnort DGC, we welcome you as our guests.  We also have some basic expectations of our guests.

SAFETY IS PRIMARY:  The two biggest concerns are forest fires and player injuries.

  1. This part of Colorado is very susceptible to fires.  Part of our property has already burned because of a forest fire.  We don’t want that to happen again and you don’t want to be the one responsible for starting a fire.
  2. There are a lot of steep rocks and loose gravel on rocks throughout the course.  To make the course interesting the rocks come into play on several baskets.  Loose gravel on solid rock is like walking on marbles.  Be careful and pay attention to where you are walking.

With the above in mind please abide by ALL course rules.

SMOKING - There is ABSOLUTELY NO CIGARETTE, JOINT, BONG, PIPE, ETC. SMOKING on the course except at the shelter near the #1 T-box, the #6 basket shelter, and near #15 Basket. Please use the provided ash buckets for all ash and butts. The ash buckets are Blue 5 Gallon buckets with sand in them. If you are not within 2 yard (2 meter, 2 steps) of the ash bucket you are in a non-smoking area. Please don't use the Black buckets. They are for trash. This rule is because of the fire hazard that exists at all times. Part of the property has already been burned by a forest fire. We don't want that to happen again.
If caught smoking on the course you will be asked to leave, please don't make us do it.
OFF LIMITS - This is different than “Out of Bounds”.  When an area is marked as OFF LIMITS, it means do not enter this area.  If you disc is in an OFF LIMITS area, and you can’t reach it without entering the OFF LIMITS area, leave it there and treat it as out of bounds.  Let us know you have left a disc in an OFF LIMITS area, describe the disc and which area it is in.  We retrieve discs periodically from the OFF LIMITS areas and place them in the Lost and Found.  If your phone number is on the disc we will call you.
LITTERING - There will be no littering on the course. There are many trashcans on the course, please use them for your trash, and for any other trash that you may see/find while playing.
CURSING - There are young children and ladies in the area.  Please hold your tongue, and keep the loud cursing out of your game while at the BuckSnort DGC.
VANDALISM - There will be no breaking live tree branches, destructive behavior, dangerous horseplay, moving baskets or anything else, or killing anything on the course. Please don't ink, sharpie, or "tag" anything (ace or not), e.g. benches, baskets, trees, etc.
WEAPONS - There will be no discharging of firearms or using other weapons of any kind on our land.
TWO METER RULE - The 2 meter rule is NOT in effect at the BuckSnort DGC.
FRAGILE PLANTS - Please watch where you are walking on the course, and be careful not to step on the wildflowers, saplings, and cacti, as doing so will kill these fragile plants struggling to survive in the poor soil quality of decomposing granite.
DOGS - The BuckSnort DGC welcomes FRIENDLY dogs. Make sure your dog has a way to get water.  If your dog(s) have a mean streak, or can't seem to get along with other dogs, please leave them at home.  If you bring a dog(s) to our DGC or home that attack anyone, you will be fully responsible for all bills associated with their recovery. You will also be held liable for any damage or injury that your dog(s)while you are here at the BuckSnort DGC.
LOST & FOUND - This is a private course on private land, so everything you find on this course belongs to us or someone we know. Anything (sunglasses, discs, keys, tags, towels, money, hats, cameras, wallets, etc.,) found on the course (weather it has a name on it or not) should be returned to us so that we can return it to its rightful owner.  We have a lost-and-found bin, and the BuckSnort DGC prides itself on the "nothing is lost" school-of-thought, so please turn in everything you find. Thank you.
PROPER CONDUCT - Please conduct yourself in a respectable, responsible manner while on our property. We have neighbors, and bad conduct could result in course closure to the general public. We want you all to have a blast while behaving yourself.  We thank you in advance for your well-mannered behavior during your visit.
Guest Expectations & Responsibilities
CORRESPONDENCE - I expect to receive a call (720-340-2044) if there are any changes in your plans. If you make a tee time and your group "no call-no shows" it will have wasted about an hour of my time, and robbed the BuckSnort DGC of much needed donations. As the person making the tee-time, I am (by default) dubbing you the group leader. As the group leader, I expect you to call me with cancellations, changes, major additions to your group, or problems. I also expect you to pass on all the rules, responsibilities, and information to everyone in your group. I suggest forwarding this information to all the people in your group so they are as well informed as the group leader when they arrive.
GROUP CONDUCT - I expect you and your group to conduct yourself in a respectable, responsible manner while on my property.
Important Liability & Course Safety Information
LIABILITY - This is a PLAY AT YOUR OWN RISK facility. Play at this course is known as "X-streme Rocky Mountain Disc Golf." YOU WILL BE PLAYING AT YOUR OWN RISK and you will be signing an extensive liability waiver to this effect. This waiver is a legal contract that will in effect strip you of your right to sue me, my family, or my neighbors for ANY reason.
PHYSICAL FITNESS - Please understand that this is a strenuous 28-hole (to be expanded to 36), mountain DG course in Pine, Colorado. The course is at approximately 7,500 feet above sea level. The course has many elevation changes and is very rocky and very steep in places. You will walk several miles during a full round of DG at the BuckSnort, so please analyze your physical fitness and only attempt to play the BuckSnort if you think you can safely handle the very strenuous nature of this course.
DRIVEWAY SAFETY - Our Driveway begins when you leave Pine Valley Road.  Please drive very slowly and cautiously on Eagles Gate Road (our driveway), (5mph please). There are young children, and dogs that play in the driveway. One of our neighbors has already gone through the anguish of loosing a four legged family member to a disc golfer driving to fast. Please help keep everyone from going through this painful ordeal again.
Additionally, fast driving contributes to road damage.  It’s not an easy chore to keep up a 3/4 mile long dirt driveway.
Important Information Regarding Tee-Times
MANDATORY TEE TIME - It is mandatory at the BuckSnort DGC to have a tee-time, there are no walk-ups allowed. This course is a voluntary pay-to-play facility surviving and improving solely on donations from players.  All donations and any other expenditures at the BuckSnort DGC are CASH only please.
TEE TIME MINIMUMS & EXPECTATIONS - There is a four (4) person minimum.  NOTE - If you book a tee time for four (4) or more players, (meaning that you have reserved the course to yourselves), and you have a player(s) that no show on you, the group will be expected to "donate" for at least four (4) players. Example - A group leader books a tee time for 6 players, and 3 of those players cancel, or do not show up, the group will be expected to "donate" for at least four (4) of the six originally scheduled players. The maximum number of players per scheduled tee-time is eight. If your group is larger than eight people, we can accommodate your group, but we will have to make special arrangements.
VERY LIMITED TEE TIMES AVAILABLE - The BuckSnort DGC only books one tee-time per day @ 10am. This is done so your group can enjoy the course at your own pace and have a peaceful day of disc golf with few other people or distractions. Please make it a priority to arrive on time (10am). Thank you for your cooperation.
Important Miscellaneous Course Information
THANK YOU - The BuckSnort DGC, although new, is exceptional because of the spectacular location and planning by one of the best course designers (Paul Rothley).  All the donations that are collected go into course improvements.  This means that the BuckSnort DGC is only going to get a whole lot better, thanks to you. Thank you for your support, and generosity!!
DONATIONS ETC - There is a customary donation per-player.  All donations and any other expenditures at the BuckSnort DGC are CASH only please.
TIME ALLOTMENT - You should allot 3 to 5 hours to play the entire course at a moderate pace. If you have more than six players, the time needed to play the course will increase.
CELL PHONES - There is NO cell service at the BuckSnort, so let those who are keeping track of you know that you will be stealth for 3 to 5 hours.
SHOES - Please wear the right shoes; this means you're best hiking boots, not flip flops or skate shoes. This advice is extremely important, and will cause you much heartache if disregarded.
TREE LOVE & HATE - The 2 meter rule is NOT in effect at the BuckSnort DGC.  If your disc gets caught in a tree, please be very careful of the people and dogs in the area before you begin to hurl rocks and sticks into the air. The worst injuries we have had here resulted from many people standing in a semi-circle around a tree, throwing rocks at a disc that had gotten stuck. You can guess what happened to these geniuses and to the innocent dog they had with them. A better idea would be to wait until after the round when nobody, (dogs, or people), is around that tree to begin your rock and stick onslaught. Another option would be to wait a few days for the wind to knock it down.
OUT OF BOUNDS - There is OB to the left of and long on #8. Do not pass the OB rope to look for you disc. There is an active Mt. Lion den in that area.
MANDO'S - There is only one mandatory at the BuckSnort (#23) and it is a "Double Reverse Mando".  The mando signs point outward.  This means that you must either go around to the right or the left.  You can not go through the middle.  If you miss the "mando" take a penalty stroke and go to either of the 2 Drop Zones to throw again. You must still make the Mando..
